Unity of London had their Annual General Meeting for 1999, this year.  The meeting was held April 16th, 2000 and was attended by about 20 people, after a great spaghetti lunch served by the Y.O.U.   As Bookstore Manager, I submitted a report generated by the program Quicken 2000 that the church recently purchased for this purpose.  We elected 4 new board members, and that page of the website shall need updating [as of this writing time.]  If the desire is there, more on this meeting shall be placed on the website.

OUR STUDY GROUP IS GROWING AND REACHING FOR THE STARS, SO I INCLUDE THIS PICTURE FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT:
In other parts of this website it has been noted that Jane has been accepted into the ministerial school. She will be starting her studies towards becoming a minister beginning in June, and so will not return to our area until she gets a break around September. Best wishes Jane.

TEXT FROM SPEECH BY PRESIDENT:

[ TEXT WILL BE INSERTED HERE] Yes, it is coming if we can find it!

TEXT FROM SPEECH BY SPIRITUAL ADVISOR:

[ TEXT WILL BE INSERTED HERE] Yes, it is coming if we can find it!

The duties of Spiritual Advisor will be taken over by Verna Brighton, Licensed Unity Teacher. She was here today, and received a warm welcome as she prepares to begin her new duties, which start in June. Verna is running the Journaling Workshop later on in May, May 4th to be exact. Verna noted to us that one of her activities had just stopped and she was very happy to see this new opportunity to serve opening up in front of her.

Pat Ball noted that she had passed the licensing procedure at Unity Village and will soon become an official Licensed Unity Teacher. Currently, she is acting as Vice-President and some of her duties are acting as a liaison person between the various committees in our study group. She is also responsible for the Bookstore, and mentioned that she will be increasing the staff there. At present the bookstore serves only the congregation, and this saves on some of the paperwork.

Hank, our current Member-At-Large, gave a short discussion of the Public Relations Committee which is engaged in various activities to increase the growth of the church through increasing the public's awareness of Unity.

Diane Matier, Director of the Sunday School [Children's Church] gave a wonderful talk about the future of the Children's Church and the average attendance, the topics covered and many other items of interest to the parents. They currently have it on every other week as they do not have sufficient staff. Staff is running around 7 teachers and helpers, and by September they will be up to 10. The numbers would have to double for them to have the Children's Church every week, as they do wish the teachers and volunteers to be able to attend church often. She noted that she will be resigning as Director of the Children's Church in June.

She made an interesting picture, a montage, which she showed to the audience. Perhaps, sometime we can get it onto the website. But it would need its description.

VOTING FOR NEW MEMBERS-AT-LARGE then occurred. For the 2 year term we had one person, Hank Ketelaars, who has been filling in for another person who left earlier this year. This was the first opportunity for him to stand for election. He won by acclimation. The other seat on the Steering Committee, a Member-at-large with a 1 year term was then voted upon. We had a choice of 3 people and Jean Hudson won the election, congratulations JEAN! Jean is espcially interested in church growth and has had an association with Unity since 1976.
